About Me: Rachel Nelson

My path into counselling has been well considered and carefully undertaken. I care a great deal about my clients and take pride joining each and every person on their unique journey.

I am honest in my communication and in the way that I work, I believe that in this way we can build a strong and trusting relationship.

My person-centred training enables me to work with you at your own pace and style, ensuring that the sessions are comfortable and right for you.

Person-centred counselling is talking therapy, but more than that it is a time when you are truly heard and supported, wherever you are in that moment.

I am a qualified counsellor and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (www.bacp.co.uk). I abide by their ethical framework including an ongoing commitment to professional supervision. I undertake regular professional development to broaden my own experience and to better understand my clients' needs. I hold full insurance for my practice and my counselling premises. I am happy to discuss any aspect of this on request.

Alongside my private practice, I have experience of working within a drug and alcohol support programme, a secondary school setting and within the film industry.  I have a strong interest in trauma along with the relationship between our experiences and combined physical and mental wellbeing.

My Practice: Equanimity Counselling

Why Equanimity? To me, equanimity means balance and calm.  I believe  these things to be of great importance within our lives.

I work from a private room within my family home in Chalfont St Giles, Buckinghamshire. It is spacious, relaxed and has plenty of natural light and fresh air. The practice has its own entrance to the rear of the house and private off-street parking.

I offer a variety of daytime and evening appointments, weekdays only, and can usually accommodate flexible arrangements to suit your lifestyle and working pattern.
